Bodge-it r us
Used this company for Insurance Home Emergency call out for a leaking toilet. After 5 visits the toilet is still leaking. I've done some research on line and it appears a leaking cone is classed as a nightmare by plumbers but I would expect trained and qualified people to be able to overcome this problem. The first cone was replaced, toilet not flushing properly, so another visit, Part of the flushing mechanism replaced and 2nd cone replaced. Further leak, further visit. Not the cone said the 'engineer' its the cistern. After some chin scratching and phone calls he told me he had wedged the cistern to keep it straight and assured me the job was done and there would be no further leaks. A week later and waters pouring from under the cabinet housing the cistern. On checking the cone and pipe had parted from the bowl and there was a length of plastic pipe lying on the floor. The pipe is just the right length to wedge the pipe and cone into the bowl . I'm going to bite the bullet and pay for a plumber to come and fix it. They might be good with drains but need to work on their toilet training

The task was to lift block paving than dig out to replace a part of the existing drainage pipe. The engineer (Mike) worked tirelessly in very hot weather to complete the job on time. We are very pleased with the result and the professional cheerful attitude of Mike

The CCTV drains check is recommended
The CCTV drains check is recommended. It is something that was suggested to me by a surveyor. The staff on the phone to Metro Rod were polite and professional. The staff member sent to check was honest and informative. Would have given 5 stars but the staff member was late (though to no fault of his own) and it took longer than was said to deliver the survey report but because of Covid-19 I was patient.

Old pipe broken and had to be replaced. The two men who carried out the work were very professional and very likeable, in every way, they left the site clean and tidy on completion of the work which was done in the time quoted. Would have no hesitation in using this firm in the future. Well done.

Not Impressed
Used this company through my Home Emergency Insurance Cover for a leak on my toilet. Plumber came ,fixed the leak but somehow managed to reduce the flush capability rendering the toilet un-useable for 'solids'. Came back said he needed parts and never seen again. He apparently told Axa as far as he was concerned the toilet was flushing so Axa said there was no longer an emergency so the matter was closed. Not Impressed

Fantastic Service
Josh Brown (Coventry & Leicester) was an absolute star. Called us to confirm appointment before arriving, sorted out our problem and gave us some great practical advice on stuff we needed to fix future. We have an old property which I suspect many less experienced people would have struggled with - not Josh ; he was superb.

Stafford site- great service
Had a call out via the Stafford branch, couldn’t fault the service from Garnet. Call out was due to saniflow not working correctly and partly due to rotten smell which we thought was from saniflow system but wasn’t. Engineer went above and beyond clearing out pipes under sinks and found that it was actually the drip tray at back of fridge which he cleaned out and replaced. No issues! Thanks.

…RIP off Metro Rod
After discovering the problem within an hour, the engineer got the camera stuck. In total it took 3 hours to recover it. I was asked to pay for 4 hours!! I felt this was totally unreasonable. I ended up agreeing to 2 hours but still felt ripped off! Subsequently I had 2 other companies put a camera down my drain, neither got their camera stuck. I received a ridiculous quote for the work, it was a joke!!! I got the work done by another company for less than half of that price.

Blocked waste pipe
Had a blocked drain for about a month. Tried all sorts of liquids and bought various items to clear it without success. Tried to use my home emergency cover but as it was over 24hrs and we have another bathroom we weren't covered. They recommended metro rod. I rang then, arrived promptly but I was worried they'd charge a fortune. I was wrong. The bloke who came was friendly and he sorted it in an hour. Charged one hours labour (about £114 Inc vat). It was limescale that had collapsed after years of build up that had blocked it. I should have got them out in the first place, would have saved me time and money. Would definitely recommend the bath/radstock depot.

Fantastic experience
Fantastic experience. Had been experiencing slow drainage and clogging for a week or two, called Metro Rod, engineer Martin was out in the morning, got straight to work and had the issue fixed within maybe 15-20 minutes. Couldn't have been easier.

Blocked pipe
My bathroom flooded today from a blocked pipe. I had tried a different company who let me down, however the Glasgow Metro rod team were brilliant and despite being so busy, were able to come to my rescue. Andrew was so lovely and helpful on the phone and the engineer Paul who came out was absolutely fantastic. All sorted in 30 minutes and saved my house from flooding. A truly 5 star experience and I would highly recommend.

A shocking customer service experience
A shocking customer service experience on an emergency insurance leaking water call out. Plumber arrived, took pictures, went back to the road to call in for authority and left without saying anything. Called the depot to find out what happened and they couldn't have cared less. 0/10 for service so I can only imagine how poor the job would have been if they'd attempted a fix. Stafford depot. Avoid at all costs if you have a choice. Update: Oh the glorious irony. Metrorod responded with a customer care contact email address which I wrote to and is unrecognised, dropping my email back to me undelivered.

Very pleased customer
We have had a drainage problem for some time now whereby the drains smelled after rainfall. Another national drainage company has been out twice and failed to diagnose the problem. Metro Rod arrived within 1 hour of calling, diagnosed the problem, and cleared the blockage within about 30 minutes. Excellent service Metro Rod, Glasgow!!!

Awful Service
Sat: Noticed the connection between my soil pipe and drain had fractured and was leaking waste. Metro Rod came out via Lloyds Bank Emergency Home cover. Said he couldn't fix it and left me with no toilet or bathroom facilities. Sun: I contacted a friend who advised that I needed a flexi couple for a salt glaze drain pipe. I informed Lloyds what was required. They told me they would get back to me on Monday. Mon: No call, so I called them back on to chase up the repair. Tue: I contacted another drain repair company who sent someone out. He did the emergency repair in 45 minutes (cost £160 in total). Metro Rod left us with no functioning drainage for 4 days during this pandemic. I would never recommend them and would have given them 0 rating if possible.
