Retiring anyway but wouldn't go back to Hays.
Had four and a half years placement through Hays. Fine at first, was contacted regularly to see how things were going. Started to go downhill when the original lady left. From then contact became sporadic. Once didn't hear from anyone for six months after someone left (seem to go through a lot of staff). Got that I was only contacted if my timesheet was late going in and they were going to be late getting their cut. Asked a couple of question re my employment rights. Didn't get answers to either, yet head of HR where I worked asked one of them and was given an answer straight away. Finished there last Friday, am sure I'll get a call asking why my this week's timesheet hasn't been submitted!

Pathetically bad
Pathetically bad Had an interview for a job I applied for. The 'agent' never bothered to contact me back. So I called the office to get some feedback from the interview. The original 'Agent' was out of the office and the other 'Agents' didn't know anything about the interview or the job. Hay's puts profit above anything else. The lack of professionalism is unbelievable. I'd advise any contractor reading this to avoid them like the plague. If they have your details on record ask them to delete it now.

DO NOT SIGN WITH THIS AGENCY
If I could give Hays recruitment zero stars then believe me I would. The staff seem completely incompetent and incapable of being able to do even the most simplest of tasks. I raised a complaint with them over a month ago regarding how I was spoken to and treated by staff where I was assigned to, and they’ve done absolutely nothing to try and resolve any issues. I sent my initial complaint to customer services and was allocated a member of staff who I was told would look into things for me. This hasn’t happened. All I keep being told is that it’s been investigated and then I’m told an investigation has been carried out and that there’s nothing the agency can do. As far as Hays are concerned, temp staff can be treated like dirt by management and there’s nothing that will be done about it. They’re too bothered about losing contracts to care about the candidates filling the positions advertised. I was contacted by someone within Hays customer services called Ella who is utterly clueless. She has sent various emails telling me on one day that the matter is under investigation, then I’m told the matter has been resolved. Then it’s under investigation. Then it’s resolved. Then it’s under investigation. Then again-yep you guessed it-it’s apparently been resolved. Having become fed up of her incompetence, I asked her to pass me over to someone who knows what they’re doing as I was fed up of the constant chopping and changing emails where nothing really appeared to be done with my complaint. I was assigned to work for Southend council within the DOLS team (deprivation of liberty safe guarding), and was spoken to and treated like dirt by the mediocre office manager Wendy ives who spent more time speaking ill of staff behind their back than she did getting any work done. She disrespected a guy on stress leave who I heard her talking about rudely. She openly discussed private and confidential information regarding the details of his absence from work and moaned when he sent her a sick note from his GP extending his stress leave from work. It was very unprofessional. She also constantly disrespected other staff behind their back-some of them were in the office. I heard her doing it with me too. Apparently, Wendy felt the need to be authoritative with me and spoke about me behind my back to Tracy. What those two clowns were unaware of was I heard everything because Wendy’s Microsoft teams video camera was open. I saw and heard everything she said about me. Another one to watch out for would be Tracy Dadds. She is an office bully-forcing staff to work in her way-even when you’re capable of finding an easier more efficient way to work while still following procedures, but unless you’re doing things her way and her way only-she will find a way to bully you into changing your way of working so you only do things the Tracy way. She is known for having a melt down in the office when any changes are made and speaking to care home staff on the phone in a very rude manner. The last one to watch out for is Elle Tozzer. Please don’t be fooled by her innocent face. She’s the one who told me what Tracy is like and how she bullies staff. I watched it happen with my own eyes. Hays recruitment are not interested in staff complaints and won’t resolve any issues whats so ever. I wish I had read the reviews online before applying to any of the jobs advertised by them as I wouldn’t have bothered otherwise. The DOLS team isn’t a nice team to work for and Hays are a shambolic excuse for an agency to sign up with. Take my advice to those reading this-delete any evidence of ever working for Hays and where they sent you and start over. The agency are poison. This isn’t an isolated incident. There are dozens and dozens and dozens and dozens of bad reviews where staff have spoken out and stated what they have gone through. It will continue to happen because staff at Hays are clueless.

Absolutely dreadful at communication
Hays once contacted me as I had applied for a role. They got me to interview stage, went for the interview, was perfect for the role. Only to find out the role didn’t exist! The company had shady HR practices and were basically looking for people to work for free! After this, the recruitment agent contacted me saying he would keep looking for roles. 2 months down the line, no contact whatsoever, other than an automated online survey, scored lowest and then they contacted with the usual empty apologies and promises of regular contact. Still nothing 10 weeks down the line. Utter rubbish.

Refused Furlough
Hays got me a placement last September in a local college. I received a call last Friday saying my services was no longer required due to the lockdown restrictions but the client wants me back when the college opens again. When I enquired about Furlough I was told that Hays are looking into it & would phone on Monday. Received phone call at 4.20 today to say that Hays Would Not place me on Furlough..... Would strongly recommend everyone to avoid this recruitment agency they have no respect for people as its clear that they put Profit before People

They should fire this guy
This morning after much excitement and anticipation, Scott Kinson who didn’t tell me where he was calling from allow me to engage in my initial conversation to introduce myself and proceeded to tell me halfway through he didn’t have; this is after 10 minutes; he didn’t have the job description he scheduled to interview me for, it he needed to pull it up...If that wasn’t astonishing enough he cut me in the middle of a sentence five minutes later saying we don’t have anything for you this position calls for someone who worked at a general contractor which leaves me to ask everybody on glassdoor why in the name of the Lord God Almighty would he have scheduled me in the first place where there was no mention on my resume or LinkedIn at all that I ever worked for a general contractor as the position was for a director of construction and my LinkedIn and my resume have director of construction: I really hope they fire him because people out of work don’t need people like this we have enough difficulty as it is. And so we’re OK with this I have the Microsoft teams invitation and prior emails is evidence...

Hays or the Plague? I'd take the plague
As a contractor: They are very rude, unknowledgeable and unsympathetic staff who are not afraid to threaten with illegal action if they do not get their way. It's a shame that a zero-star option is not available, because that is what they deserve. I will NEVER use hays if any other option is available. ----------------------------------- As a recruiter: They are lazy, unknowledgeable and would happily send 100 unvetted and poor quality CVs than 5 good candidates - this is because they have no idea what a good candidate looks like. I will NEVER use hays if any other option is available.

Don't get any work through Hays. I was 'promised' continuation of contract...I then get a call from the Agent stating that the school employed someone else....short notice....always a story from the Agent....they are also sending a long line of candidates to certain posts. If one fails..they send someone else....unprofessional, uncaring.

Literal waste of time
Literal waste of time. Spoke to Jake King and Laura Evans. They both sounded excited to have my CV sent to them. Expecting an answer the same day possibly. One week goes by from both and no response. I followed up again and no replies. Ridicilous run around, forget all these covid excuses already. They can simply hire more people to do recruitment. Rubbish service and time wasters as always. I honestly do not know why we use recruiters as clearly they only want to get hold of people with PhD/ Masters and then get them hired for max payout. I doubt I'm wrong as this is what sales is all about.

Totally useless company and you are best staying well clear of them for either recruitment or if seeking employment. I have 27 years senior management experience in warehousing and logistics and have recruited hundreds of people in my career but I have never dealt with such an unprofessional, uncaring company. Be aware, if you complain they just ignore you so just don't waste your time dealing with them for anything.

Shocking company-AVOID
Me and my partner emigrated from the UK to Australia and we used an agency for 4 years in order to obtain our PR visa. We attended so many seminars in London where HAYS were always advertising as the 'best' recruitment company etc and they were always highly recommended by our immi officer. We both contacted hays global recruitment consultants prior to arrival in Australia who advised us to edit our resumes and use a hays template and that once is Australia we would be referred across to a Hays Australian consultant etc. Once arriving we contacted both the global recruiter and the local recruiters who were completely useless with replying on email. We had to call them several times to get an answer. Finally after being contacted we had to complete two online courses with them and they completely bombarded us with asking us to send across ID etc it was all go go go go suddenly to get you registered. My partner who obtained a very high trades visa for Australia was told he would only find backpacking work with lower wage.......here we have an exceptional gas engineer with over 12 years experience with every UK gas qualification under the sun and he will only find labouring work.....right ok. I was told that the market was really hard and that it would only be temp work i would have and again minimum wage.....i also have over ten years experience in Admin, finance and the gas industry. I was told to send across my resume that i sent across about 5 times so i am not sure how they didn't receive it. We both decided to completely sack them off and i applied via the Australian job seekers site and landed myself and amazing job with a corporate company whilst in quarantine and its a permanent role and my partner has now also found a permanent role the one in which he is rightly qualified to do. So please take my advise and do NOT use this company they are only recognised for their global name and are in fact useless. If you do attend seminars in London just by pass these lot and do your job apps yourself!! Absolute waste of time. Also to add they never actually called me or called back to tell me of any jobs!
