Jamie the plumber - very pleased with work completed
Jamie the plumber attended our property and did multiple repairs to our satisfaction. He was polite, and quick and efficient. We were very happy with his visit. He repaired our kitchen taps, our ensuite bath taps and wash hand basin taps. He contacted us about 20 minutes before arriving to give us estimated eta. He social distanced and wore a mask. On arrival spoke to us then went to the van once to get all he might need and got on with the jobs quickly. Thank you

Blocked drain issue
I booked my appointment with the engineer on line. It was very easy and had an email confirming my appointment immediately. I picked a morning appointment between 8 am and 1pm. The engineer telephoned me at 7:50 am to inform me he would be with me in 20 minutes. I also received a call from the 'office'. So good to know exact time of his arrival. When he arrived he explained costs and listened to the details of my issue. Then he set about the work. There was no delay. He was polite and efficient completing the task in half an hour. With concerns about Covid 19 I can confirm that he kept social distancing rules and protocols. I would certainly use the service again if necessary

Great experience, booked on line but then had to alter the appointment - all done no hassle, given a time bracket and this was kept to. As advised would have a phone call from the engineer and John did this. Job completed quickly and cleaned up too! Cheers

Arranged at 1130 for a visit between 1200-1800. Called them at 1700 to ask how much longer was told call had been cancelled at 1201 and a voice mail had been left. Checked mobile call was 15 seconds and no voice mail was left. When I called back they hung up the phone. Please do not give these people your business if they treat people like this. Use your local business who deserves the job.

Efficient but a little naughty!
Arrived when they said they would, very pleasant and efficient, it took all of 1 minute to unblock the drain. After doing the job they advised me that it wasn’t my problem but my water company and I should claim a refund from them. Northumbrian Water advised that Dyno - Rod were aware before they did the job that the problem should have been referred to them thus saving me £90!

Terrible service
Terrible service. Waited 4 hours on Monday they did not turn up. Phoned again Wednesday waited another 4 hours someone came round and cut off the water to my 89 year old mothers toilet, he said he did not know when he would be back. He said he would email me but I have heard nothing for 3 days. He said he only lived down the road. I am not sure he even works for dyno rod .The website says fixed price he said 99 pounds an hour . The phone line was very confusing, put through to Wales, we live in London, then transferred. Rang back got drains instead of plumbers several times. Very bad phone line could barely hear them. Also British gas cut off my 89 year old mother's hot water heater last December and refused to put in another one. They refused to explain why. They said it was a health and safety issue. My mother has no hot water and no toilet. I feel like we are being deliberately harassed. I think the council or it may be local people or builders are trying to put my mother in a home so they can get our house cheaply as it is in a bad state of repair , and we are being forced out by having the hot water and toilet cut off. Dyno rod is so big I am not sure they know who they are sending, the people who refused to put in a hot water heater were not from British gas either,(dyno rod are run by British gas), as they did not even have any water heaters, they said British gas would not help us we would have to use local people. I complained to British gas who refused to help us or explain. They could not explain why British gas had no water heaters, they would not admit it was another company they sent. The complaints department also never got back to us. I feel scared intimidated and harassed. they seem to be sending local people not employed by them they are putting us at risk. I dont want to talk to them again as I dont feel safe. Our house is falling into terrible disrepair. I am scared of calling builders and plumbers, the state of our house is embarrasing we would rather local people did not see it. Can trustpilot please help us find people to help repair my 89 year old mothers house. We have no hot water and we need a plumber to fix a serious leak from a toilet . Our house is in a terrible state. We need kind understanding people . People are trying to blame me for the state of the house and are frightening me saying they will take my mother away. The house has always been in a bad state. I have lived somewhere else for 26 years I have moved back to help my elderly mother. I did not expect this from British gas and dyno rod. It has happened twice now and has left me scared wondering why you are doing this to us. Please could someone tell me where I could get help from as I am scared and we need to repair our house. Sorry I am rambling and this is not all about dyno rod but I am feeling very stressed I might have to remove the not relevant to dyno rod parts.

Simply terrible.
Simply terrible. Had a hot water leak from a pipe leading to the shower pump- booked an engineer who came out and said we were covered when we were. Booked the next day and the engineer came from doncaster and was really disgruntled about being called out- I showed him the quote I had been given from the other engineer and he simply took a picture and left- didnt check the leak or isolate it just simply left within 2 minutes of arriving. Hot water leak got worse the following day and had to call an emergency plumber at around 11pm- an hour later received a phone call from the plumber saying he's busy and will be until the next morning. Been using towels to soak up the leak. Rang the direct line the next day and was told they will look into it and ring me back.... i received no call back. The part we need is a salamander flexible hose which is £15 in screw fix AND in stock!! Why am I waiting 5 DAYS for these muppets to fix a leak. We have a 4 day old son so should be a priority. Pathetic company who say all the right things but actually do very little

Really frustrating and dysfunctional…
Really frustrating and dysfunctional experience. I booked an engineer to fix a drain today and since I wouldn't be there I understood that he would be there within a 5 hour window and call once on site for payment before doing the job. No problem. During the day I received two missed calls from an unknown number, but with no message or return number. I called Dynorod immediately, in case it was from their plumber. By the time they located the job in their records, gave me a new number for the local dispatch which i then contacted, I was told that the engineer had been there and gone. The local dispatch was unable to get him to turn around and return to the job (note that this was about 10 minutes total after the initial missed call.) Customer service was nice and as helpful as she could be within her power, but she was unable get him to return to the site at all today. All i could do was rebook for tomorrow...I asked if the engineer could please at least then leave a message with a number to prevent the same thing from happening again; I was told it would go in the notes but that in all honesty they don't read the notes and that the same thing would likely happen again. My only option was prepaying for the job (without even knowing what it was yet!) because the engineer couldn't be bothered to just leave a message with a return number. So I am expecting the same exact thing to happen again tomorrow and probably the next day. Pretty much negates the point of being a service provider, no? So easily preventable, unprofessional, and lazy. I never leave bad reviews, but that's how ridiculously frustrating I've found this experience to be. Would not recommend.

Hidden charges and suspect pricing
I requested a booking but stated I wanted the prices of a cctv drain survey before the booking was confirmed. I didn’t receive any prices but they said an engineer would come out. The engineer arrived and informed me a cctv survey would cost £160, I asked him about some advice a rival company had given and he confirmed the problem they’d identified. I then asked if a cctv survey would work as the rival had said it wouldn’t, I got a political answer to this question. He then said he could do the survey for £90 if he didn’t record it (the first red flag). When I said no and that I just wanted quotes he told me it was a £50 service charge just for him to come out (second red flag) and that if I’d have asked for quotes they would’ve been given over the phone. I explained I booked online and read out my request which clearly stated I wanted quotes prior to booking. His attitude quickly changed and he promptly left when he realised he wasn’t getting paid. I rang Dyno Rod customer service who were very helpful and told me there shouldn’t be any service charge but they would check with the local depot. The local depot confirmed they charged a service charge for travelling long distances, I live around 25 miles away. I was never informed of any service charge prior to booking and so refused to pay, be very careful of this company.

Had a leak if water from kitchen/diner ceiling, rang British gas, who I have plumbing/drain cover with, Dyno rod engineer visit booked as an emergency call out. Text message sent to my mobile phone by Dyno rod to confirm. Within two hours two Engineers, Richard and Bailey called, found the problem, a perished seal under bath waste pipe, which was replaced. Both engineers were pleasant, were appropriate PPE, respected my home, would reccomend Dyno rod to anyone. Thanks.
