Dreadful communication and customer service but professional finish.
First contacted on 31/7 with a broken downstairs window. Told will take between 5 days and 2 weeks because of covid. Had to chase them at every turn, repeatedly promised phone calls back that day, only to have to chase them again. Repeated delays with no reasons given. Last minute cancellations with no warning - days taken off work to have the work done with nobody arriving. Promised phone calls back from Managers to discuss complaints. Never materialised. Managed to ring me to request payment within 30 mins of the engineer leaving, so are capable of communicating when they want money. The quality of the work done is however excellent and the engineer himself was approachable, friendly and professional and is the only thing that has saved it from a 1* review. However the customer service and communication has been utterly dreadful and I cannot bring myself to recommend them to anyone.

First contact with the company was very good & a locksmith was arranged to call next day. Unfortunately he was delayed & as I had another appointment in the afternoon it was a little worrying. But the man came as soon as he could & did a wonderful job. Very nice man..polite & did the job quickly. It would have been very helpful to have been told there was going to be a delay. Hence 4 out of 5 stars.

Simply excellent service
Simply excellent service! The engineer arrived 15 minutes early. No one was in the house but happily waited outside until the scheduled time. The work and advice given was first class!! Keep it up we need such reliable service during such unreliable time.

Dreadful customer service completely…
Dreadful customer service completely let down I phoned Able group who said they would send a plumber to fix a bad leak. They took my payment card details. This was about 4.30. Laterafter 5 they phoned to say the plumber had gone home, they would find another one. About 10 mins later they rang to say they were not coming.by then it was out of hours and it took a lot of calls to find someone to come out at a premium charge rate. Awful customer service . I would say don’t use a company that lets people down like this

Lying on their website
So, looked at this company for a boiler repair on a boiler that was leaking after looking at the website and seeing the following (quote): "We can give you a free quote, with no obligation to purchase and no call-out fee, for gas and heating works from a local *location* engineer." Called them up as I thought oh that's good, engineer can come out let me know if it's repairable or needs a replacement and I can make my decision from there. When I phoned them to book an engineer I was told there was a £79 callout fee for the first half hour, then another £79 for every subsequent half hour or part thereof + costs for any materials. Additionally they advertised (quote): "We will give you a 12-month labour guarantee with our boiler and heating works in *location* and a response time of 30-90 minutes" They told me on the phone the response time would be just shy of a week. I don't mind paying for a service - but I hate false advertising. Contacted another company who are now getting my money for a new boiler install being conducted 3 days after a following day inspection. My advice - save your time - go somewhere else

Very poor wasp nest removal service
They were very unprofessional while treating a wasp’s nest, the treatment did not work and they have refused to come out to rectify the problem. They were extremely expensive and unhelpful. I certainly will not be using them again and wish l had seen the 17 percentage bad comments that have already been posted on this website.

Job done as required by their plumber, however smelled a rat when there was no offer of an invoice nor told how much they were going to debit my card with. Checked card statement shortly after and the price charged was fairly in line with what I'd expected. Sorted. A month later surprised to receive an e-mail saying there is an outstanding amount on my 'account' and that I'd get 7 days to pay up or they'd start raising interest charges. I queried it and the outstanding amount had been omitted from the price they'd originally charged, so the error was theirs. No hint of an apology or offer to waive the outstanding amount ( for 2 brass end caps worth about a fiver ) so as I can't afford a bad credit rating had no choice but to pay up. Licence to print money or what? I've asked for an itemised invoice now. Interestingly I still haven't had it... Loads more work to do on the house, but none of it's coming their way now. Don't touch 'em with a barge pole.

Hornets nest
A complete waste of time experience. Telephoned call centreTo arrange a pest control expert to come out to me. Advert advertises Brentwood Pest Control but actually just call centre who source out jobs. Made appointment for 2 days later and spoke at length with the girl at call centre about hornets nest in chimney and access either from roof or through attic bedrooms. So as not to waste each other’s time it was made very clear someone that could climb stairs etc was needed. The man turned up with a limp and unfortunately was as he admitted definitely not fit enough to climb any stairs or deal with a hornets nest in a chimney. He had been told to deal with an accessible wasps nest. Absolutely ridiculous and time wasting for me and the guy who turned up as it wasn’t his fault.

Rang up 6pm about a wasps nest under the eves .at 8am the following day two men arrived with all the equipment to remove it.they explained what was going on and had it sorted in about half an hour.a bit pricy but job done .no complaints.

Terrible company
Terrible company - don't use! There is a call out fee disguised as 'we take £80 from your credit card because we will fix the issue' Not only did they not fix the issue they conned me into signing the t & c as they were to provide a quote within a couple of hours and fix the issue before a bank holiday weekend. They never did I had to get another company who fixed it quickly and Able charged me £206 for absolutely nothing. A complete disaster as a company. I totally gave them £206 for nothing. I continuously called originally to find out where the quote was and was kept on the phone for up to 40mins and then asked for my money back which was not agreed after days - I finally negotiated to receive at least something but it was riduculous as it wasn't even half of the money paid out - again this company was absolutely useless.

The work was done satisfactorily.
The work was done satisfactorily and timekeeping was good, a replacement part was needed to enable the hot tap to turn off fully. This was a bit pricey. But at least its functioning well.
